“I can say it has been extremely fulfilling to be able to share my many years of expertise with clients and bring clarity and confidence to a process which can otherwise feel daunting and sometimes confusing.”
I have always had a strong interest in real estate. My dad was a real estate broker on the small island where I grew up in Florida. My first job after college was in property management and then at a Title and Escrow company in Chicago. After moving to Seattle, I handled escrow closings for a small law firm, and I recall being shocked by how many buyers and sellers came to their final escrow signing and would tell me they had no idea what was going on during their transaction. They expressed frustration and bewilderment because no one had taken the time to explain the process to them. I could see how much stress had built up over the weeks of waiting and wondering what was happening. The fact that so many people had this experience really stuck with me.
Fast forward 10 years later after a successful career as a litigation paralegal, I found myself drawn back into real estate. This time during the search for my second home in Seattle when I stumbled upon a fledgling real estate start-up called Redfin. I was immediately drawn the concept of utilizing technology to make the real estate industry more consumer friendly and efficient. I was inspired to obtain my broker’s license and fortunate to get my foot in the door as employee number thirteen…and the first dedicated real estate agent hired by Redfin. It was an exciting time. We were blazing new territory on multiple levels back in the mid 2000s. Being able to tap my many years of working in real estate related jobs as a paralegal, it was a natural fit for me. The experience that had the most influence over how I built my career as a broker, was remembering those bewildered buyers and sellers who I helped during their closings all those years ago. Moving forward, I wanted to make sure I not only gained a clear understanding of my client’s goals, but I would also help educate them on the process of buying and selling a home. Sure enough, the more each client understood about what to expect, and how the difference facets related to each other, and knowing I had their best interest at heart, the less stress they would feel. This liberated my clients to find more joy in the process and focus on what mattered most…finding the right home where they could thrive and by happy.
Hundreds of happy clients later, I can say it has been extremely fulfilling to be able to share my many years of expertise with clients and bring clarity and confidence to a process which can otherwise feel daunting and sometimes confusing. I look forward to discussing the many insights and strategies I can offer whether you are buying or selling a home.
